Automatic - "It It Now?"

Los Angeles' Automatic have a new single out, and it's a fun burst of synth-pop. "Is It Now?" might be synth heavy, but it still feels like more of a rock song. The drums keep it from being a full on electronic song, and it comes across as a lot of fun despite the subject matter. It's hard to choose what our favorite part of the song is. There are fantastically fun call and response vocals, the synths are divine, and the way the drums accentuate the vocals at parts are all highlights. "Is It Now?" is a relatively chill song that is still going to entice you to dance along, even if it's just a little shimmy.

Izzy Glaudini (synths/vocals) says of the band's latest single:

“... the thing I think about the most on a day-to-day basis is: how do you have a sense of joy while the world seems to be collapsing, and you feel so powerless?

"I feel like, as American citizens, we have a responsibility to pull the levers to stop the machine. ‘Is It Now?’ is about trying to not feel like a victim in this environment. It's important to still feel a sense of joy, even amongst all the horrible shit going on in the world.”
