Boston's favorite cult singer-songwriter Will Dailey has a new single out that is, as always, a must listen. "My Old Ride" was recorded live in one take with Dailey's band, and was inspired by listening to Bruce Springsteen's audiobook. This one truly shows Dailey's songwriting ability, both in lyrics and song structure. "My Old Ride" is the kind of song that could have come out any time in the last fifty or so years. It's such a classic style song, and even though it's inspired by Springsteen it sounds more like Tom Petty to me. Dailey's Americana side is showing on this one, and his streak of amazing music remains unbroken.
Will Dailey says of his new single:
“I started singing this chorus and thought… am I really writing a song about Springsteen, his dad, and cars? But some songs just insist on being written.”
