Folk Uke is the Texas based musical project of Amy Nelson (daughter of Willie Nelson) and Cathy Guthrie (daughter of Arlo Guthrie). For pride month, the duo have released a new single, "Gay for You." It's a rollicking folk track with an obvious sense of humor. It's the kind of song just begging to be played in bars and dives, as it has that old timey barroom sound. It's a fun song that shows off the musical ability and sense of humor that runs in both of their families.
Folk Uke say of their latest single:
“We were sitting around drinking one night and had this idea that instead of writing love songs for undeserving men, maybe we should write love songs for each other. We dedicate this song to our LGBTQ+ sisters and brothers around the world. We hope you will feel the love we have for you in this song.”
