Here's what you need to know about Chicago's ira glass. The band was recruited via flyers that said "NOISY POST-HARDCORE INSTRUMENTALISTS DESIRED," and they recorded their upcoming EP over two days at Electrical Audio. (The EP is dedicated to the late Steve Albini.) If those two facts sound appealing, you're going to love "where'd you get the candy baby lol." It's three minutes of noisy and anxiety inducing heavy indie rock, filled with screaming vocals and abrasive guitar. It's like someone heard The Jesus Lizard and decided they were a good start. This is a bonkers song that won't be for everyone, but if you've read this far, you're going to adore it.
You can listen to "where'd you get the candy baby lol" below. compound turbulence flexing for the heat is due out July 12 on Fire Talk/Angel Tapes, and is available for pre-order through Bandcamp. For more on ira glass, check out the band on Instagram. Upcoming live dates are below the song.
