Ever since I discovered Muzzins in 2021, I've used many genres to describe their songs. I've described them as alt-rock, punk, jazz, hip hop, electroclash, indie rock, tropicalia, etc., but none of that prepared me for their latest single. Instead of a crazy mash-up style track, "You Told On Yourself" is a straight up R&B meets funk jam. This is the first single Muzzins has released that focuses on R-Muzz's vocals. The song starts off as a slinky and seductive R&B song, with R-Muzz crooning in the a standard love song style. For the chorus, the band kicks in doing their very best Parliament/Funkadelic funk jam. Sometimes the most surprising thing a band can do is release a simple and fantastic song.
