The latest from Austin, TX's Boss Battle is a huge, sludge filled song that lurches towards you. "Failed Radio Transmission" is a noisy, lumbering song that threatens to erupt into pure chaos, but never quite does. It has a sense of danger and foreboding throughout it's entire nearly four minute length. Not many artists can have comparisons to The Jesus Lizard, Deftones, and Pixies in their press release and live up to that, but Boss Battle does. What's most surprising is how much melody is in "Failed Radio Transmission." It's certainly not a pop song, but there is as much beauty hidden in the song as their is discordance.
