killgurls - "Cradle"

I stumbled onto killgurls the way you discover new music in 2024: I found them on TikTok. The Sacramento band have this intense version of 90's inspired punk, but punk in the way Nirvana was punk. "Cradle," their new single, is noisy and fast, but with a ton of melody behind it all. Even though this is a brand new release, everything about this song screams 90's. This also includes the way the band looks (seriously, look at that band photo above... I had hair almost identical to that, and I'm pretty sure I had that sweater...) and the artwork for the single. This is music for those that still have a hard copy of 1991: The Year Punk Broke and know exactly where it is. (And also for our kids.)

You can listen to "Cradle" below. For more on killgurls, check out the band on TikTok and Instagram.
