theWorst - "Monomania"

We first discovered Portland, ME's theWorst when they teamed up with Dana Colley of Morphine for a song. On their latest, they brought in another friend. This time it's Nikki Glaspie (Beyonce, Nth Power) for "Monomania." This new song isn't quite as indie punk as we're used to from the trio. Instead, it leans more towards straight up alt-rock with an oddly danceable beat. That does make sense, given that Glaspie has played drums for Beyonce in the past. But "Monomania" isn't a pop song. This is heavy alt-rock with a pop twist.

Guitarist/vocalist Brooke Binion says of the band's new song:

“When you’re manic, it’s like your brain is making decisions that you don’t agree with but you’re doing them anyway. There’s a lot of impulsivity and that feeling of knowing something is a terrible idea but suddenly you’re doing it.”

You can watch the video for "Monomania" below. Yes Regrets is due out June 3. For more on theWorst, check out the band's Linktree. Upcoming tour dates are below the video.
