Katy Pinke is a Manhattan based singer-songwriter who has a new single coming out this month. The latest single from that album, "Syzygy," is going to be considered alt-folk, although it's pretty close to mainstream folk. It's a simple song that focuses mostly on Pinke's vocals and guitar. It's a stripped down song that was recorded live with a bare minimum of percussion barely audible in the background. This song is stunning in its simplicity, and it always astounds me how certain artists can command a listener's attention with so little. "Syzygy" is impossibly compelling, and you're going to be floored by this one.
